New Dawn Shelter is a privately run facility that operates on an annual budget of $75,870.00. Regular monetary donations are a necessity for us to continue to operate. We rely solely on the generosity of the community, local churches and businesses. We do not receive any state or federal funding. All contributions are used at the discretion of the Board of Directors for purposes consistent with the tax exempt status of the shelter. Donations can be mailed to 137 Commerce Ct., Gladwin, MI 48624 or give online below. Monetary donations are tax deductible.
Current Needs
Monetary Donations (click the "donate" button above) We are currently in need of the following items: Paper Towels Kleenex Disinfecting Wipes Fabuloso Spic 'n Span Bathroom Cleaner Toilet Bowl Cleaner Laundry Soap Dryer Sheets Ziploc Baggies (small/large) Garbage Bags Dish Scrubbers Please call the shelter prior to bringing in all donations as current needs change. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.
We have limited storage space. We do not accept clothing donations. Please take clothing to Sacred Heart Mission or Helping Hands Mission. We work closely with Sacred Heart Mission and shelter guests may receive clothing for no charge.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:
Office Staff
Flexible Hours - 4 hour, 8 hour shifts available
Devotion leaders - Morning devotions held at 9 am
Drivers to take guests to work or appointments
People interested in organizing or helping at a fundraiser
All potential volunteers are required to undergo a background check.
